As Zoom’s user growth and revenue expansion began to plateau, the team shifted focus from traditional advertising and sales-driven tactics toward more sustainable, organic growth. I proposed a new direction: transforming the Download Center into a customer acquisition gateway with strong search engine visibility.
I led both the strategic planning and design execution of this project, with a focus on SEO optimization, restructuring the page’s information architecture, adapting for international users, and creating multi-channel entry points.
Challenges
Techwave faced significant hurdles with an outdated logo and inconsistent visual assets across platforms, which diluted brand recognition and weakened their market presence. The lack of a unified brand voice made it challenging to differentiate Techwave in a saturated tech sector, where competitors leveraged polished identities to capture attention. Additionally, the company’s global expansion plans demanded a scalable identity adaptable to diverse markets, from digital interfaces to physical merchandise, without losing coherence or impact.
Solutions
To address these challenges, a sleek, geometric logo with a modular structure was designed to ensure adaptability across print, digital, and merchandise applications. A vibrant, tech-inspired color palette and typography system were developed to guarantee visual consistency and accessibility, enhancing user experience across touchpoints. A comprehensive brand style guide was created to enforce uniformity across global marketing campaigns, providing clear guidelines for logo usage, color codes, and tone of voice to support Techwave’s international growth.
Our Approach
Discovery Phase: Conducted in-depth stakeholder interviews with Techwave’s leadership to align the brand identity with their mission of driving innovation. Analyzed competitor branding to identify differentiation opportunities, focusing on simplicity and scalability.
Design & Development: Explored multiple design directions through mood boards and sketches, iterating on logo concepts to balance modernity and timelessness. Developed a typography suite optimized for readability across devices. Created high-fidelity mockups for business collateral to visualize real-world applications.
Collaboration: Worked closely with Techwave’s marketing team to ensure the identity aligned with their global expansion strategy. Incorporated feedback from focus groups representing their target audience (tech professionals, aged 25-45).
Testing & Validation: Conducted A/B testing on logo variations to measure audience preference and brand recall. Validated scalability through mockups on diverse mediums, from mobile apps to billboards.
